This app knows where families live, so it is built to remember as little as possible. Last updated September 2026.

WHAT IS COLLECTED

  • Your location, only when you ask. Tapping USE MY LOCATION sends your coordinates to our server once, to plan a trip from where you are standing. The coordinate is used for that answer and is not stored — not in the database, not in analytics, not in logs we keep.
  • Your email address, only if you sign in. Sign-in is optional and exists solely to sync your saved places and recent trips between devices. The address is used to send the 6-digit sign-in code and to store your account row. It is never shared or sold, and there is no password to leak.
  • A push subscription, only if you tap the bell. Watching a route for elevator outages stores the stations being watched and the token needed to notify this device. Nothing else.
  • Aggregate usage counts. Each route search logs which station complexes the plan relied on — never the address, never the search text, never a coordinate, never who searched. Page views are counted by Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and sets no cross-site identifiers.
  • Feedback you send. The feedback form asks for your email so your note can be answered. It attaches nothing about your trips or location, and the form says so.

WHAT IS NEVER COLLECTED

  • No tracking, for advertising or anything else.
  • No third-party advertising, ad networks or ad identifiers.
  • No sale or sharing of data with data brokers — with anyone.
  • No trip history tied to you. Saved places live on your device (and, signed in, in your account row) — they are yours, not ours to analyze.

WHERE DATA LIVES

Saved places and settings live in your browser or the app on your phone. If you sign in, a copy lives in our database so your other devices can see it. Trip plans are computed on our server from the MTA's public data feeds and are not retained.

DELETING YOUR DATA

Signed out, there is nothing to delete on our side — clear the app’s website data and it is gone. To delete an account and everything in it, send a note from the feedback page using the email you signed in with, and it will be removed.
